Thank you to everyone who attended this month's group.

We introduced ways to reduce stress (and boredom) whether at home, at the doctor's office, in the hospital, at the hairdresser's or anywhere else you have to sit and wait.

The magic solution to keeping cool and calm? Mandalas...the most traditional of the new craze in Adult Colouring books...YES! It helps to relieve stress, and there's no need to go broke with this wonderful hobby. A quick trip to the local dollar store will have you all loaded up with everything from super boxes of a rainbow of coloured pencils to metallic coloured pencils or coloured markers...you can have a plethora of choices to go home with you for under $10 if you really want to splurge, or as simple as $4 for a lighter load. You can stop and start your "doodling" at will, complete a picture or move on to another one...you are the artist and dreamer...and you have beautiful finished works to use as cards, note-paper or as gifts for friends and loved ones. Someone suggested that they would make terrific individual wrapping paper for bridal or wedding give-aways or gifts in general.

We were pleased to be shown how to adapt an off-the-rack bra into a mastectomy bra - a pair of scissors, some padding, voila! A pretty (and sexy) bra in a hurry. Works especially well if you are in a pinch before your visit to your professional Mastectomy prosthesis fitter.

We discussed fear of cancer recurrence, suggestions on how we can get our family practitioners to listen to us post-treatment, how we believe that follow up is important to our "forever" recovery emotionally and physically...

WOWS! is a safe place where women can share their experiences in a confidential setting; we welcome new members at any of our monthly meetings. WOWS! Community goal is to provide support to one another through good and difficult times.

Please join us.
